Notice to 2021 Participants

The Achill Half Marathon & 10k operations team wish to inform you as a valued participant of our event that we have taken the difficult decision to postpone our 2021 event due to Covid 19. Given the ever changing and uncertain future regarding event restrictions and keeping in mind the health and safety of the local Achill community and our entrants we have been left with no option but to cancel our event for this year.

However, we are delighted to stage the Achill Half Marathon & 10k VIRTUAL Race once again for 2021! Last year we hosted our first virtual event which passed off with great success and we received positive feedback from entrants.

Registered participants for our 2021 event can avail of one of the below options.

  1. Go Virtual: Choose to transfer your 2021 entry to the Virtual Option, you will receive a refund of the difference in price between your original registration and the virtual option (Priced at €25) in addition to a 2021 official finisher medal and t shirt which will be posted to you. Entrants opting for the Virtual option will be asked to upload their times once completed. The dates for completing the virtual race will be from the 3rd of July to 24th July 2021. We ask all Virtual entrants to follow all public health guidelines when completing their times. Registered entrants to the Virtual race will be emailed with details on uploading their times closer to the time of the event.
  2. Defer: Defer your 2021 entry to our 2022 event (€10 transfer fee is waived) Our 2022 event will be held on Saturday 2nd July 2022.
  3. Refund: Refund of face value of 2021 entry.

The above options are available to all entrants who have registered to date for our 2021 race and those who deferred their 2020 entry.

This year we've teamed up with to provide filtered water in reusable cups at our water stations and Race HQ, eliminating approximately 12,000 single use plastic water bottles. Runners are requested to place used cups into the receptacles provided. They can then be collected and steam-cleaned for future use.
